Throughout this toolbox, you have found descriptions of what your role as Programme Director entails and resources that might be helpful for your role. In addition to this information, you may want to develop yourself as an educational manager and leader. UT offers several opportunities for this, ranging from informal network meetings and online courses up to a 14-month development programme.
A good way to develop yourself for your role as Programme Director is by exchanging experiences with peers, your fellow PDs of UT. To facilitate this, CELT organises four to five Programme Director meetings per year at the U Park Hotel. The sessions are on a Tuesday or Thursday, from 17.15 – 20.00 hrs. Some food is provided.
Every session starts with a topic relevant and inspiring for Programme Directors. The topics are selected in consultation with a small group of Programme Directors who help to shape the agenda. Occasionally, the Rector also joins these sessions.
After the plenary part of approx. 1 hour, the session offers plenty of opportunity for informal exchange of experiences and networking.
You will automatically be invited to these meetings via your Outlook calendar.
UT offers many opportunities for you as Programme Director to develop your skills and expertise. From short online courses you can take at home and workshops on campus to longer development programmes at external locations, there is always an opportunity that meets your needs.
