Exchange and Inspiration Session: Teaching Research Skills in the Age of AI

Thursday 3 December 2026 15:00 - 17:00

How should we teach literature reviews, academic writing, data analysis, and research design when AI tools can support each of these activities?

Generative AI is transforming the way students conduct research. As AI tools become increasingly capable of supporting many stages of the research process, educators are rethinking what students should learn, how they should learn it, and how research skills can be assessed in meaningful ways.

In this interactive Exchange & Inspiration Session, UT educators will share experiences and examples from their own teaching practice, followed by an open discussion on the opportunities and challenges of teaching research skills in the age of AI.

  • Date: Thursday 3 December 2026
  • Time: 15:00–17:00
  • Place: Learning & Teaching Lab (T300) & online (hybrid) – This is an on-site-first event, with hybrid participation possible.
