Exchange and Inspiration Session: Teaching Coding in Times of AI

Thursday 5 November 2026 15:00 - 17:00

How is programming education evolving in response to generative AI? Should we integrate AI into programming education, or rethink what coding competence means?

AI coding assistants are rapidly changing how students learn to program, solve problems, and develop software. While these tools create new opportunities for learning and productivity, they also raise important questions about learning objectives, assessment, and the skills that graduates will need in the future.

In this interactive Exchange & Inspiration Session, UT educators will share experiences and examples from their own teaching practice, followed by an open discussion on the opportunities and challenges of teaching programming in the age of AI.

  • Date: Thursday 5 November 2026
  • Time: 15:00–17:00
  • Place: Learning & Teaching Lab (T300) & online (hybrid) – This is an on-site-first event, with hybrid participation possible.
