Improving student learning through teacher-led educational research: lessons from STER and CLEAR Lessons from the STER and CLEAR Platforms

How can teachers use research in their own courses to improve student learning? This presentation shows how UT teachers test and validate educational innovations in practice through STER, the Science & Technology Education Research platform. Using the award-winning CLEAR (Chemistry Learning for Environmental Action and Responsibility) initiative as an example, the session will discuss how teacher-led research can strengthen course design and learning outcomes while turning educational innovations into evidence-informed teaching practices.
