Could AI help write microlecture scripts? Help us evaluate our scriptwriter tool by testing it out in practice

Wednesday 2 September 2026

Preparing microlectures for the DIY Studio often involves a lot of manual work: structuring slides, writing scripts, and more. As part of our ongoing exploration into how AI might support teaching workflows, we’ve built a prototype tool called the Educational Media Scriptwriter.

When you enter your course topic, target audience, and learning objectives, the tool automatically generates a draft PowerPoint slide deck. Using the editor, you can tweak the slides, adjust speaker notes, and export a PowerPoint deck ready for the DIY Studio, leaving you free to add your own images and animations. Take a look at the short video demo above to see how the prototype works in practice.

Call for Participants

As this is an early-stage proof of concept, we’d like to see its actual usability in practice. We are currently looking for teachers who already have experience with making videos for their teaching and are willing to test out the tool and share critical feedback.

If you'd like to try it out and help us evaluate whether an approach like this is worth developing further, please send us a message at telt@utwente.nl!
