On 15 May 2024, the HyRelief team presented "Drought Assessment in Drylands with Hyperspectral Vegetation Index-based Evapotranspiration Methods." The talk summarized the field analysis of evapotranspiration and hyperspectral narrowbands in our study area of Kapiti, Kenya. The 10-minute presentation at ESA-ESRIN in Frascati, Italy was well-received. The daily analysis of field-based hyerspectral and evapotranspiration data is the first of its kind and could lead to better monitoring of flash droughts with Earth Observation data.
