ITC receives the visit of a delegation representing key actors of Land Governance in Brazil

On 27 March, ITC hosted a delegation of 14 representatives from several Brazilian federal institutions involved in land governance. The participating organizations represent key components of Brazil’s federal ecosystem for land administration, digital government, data integration, and public information infrastructure. These included agencies responsible for federal asset management and land governance, such as SPU, INCRA, and MDA-SGF; digital government and data integration bodies within MGI, including DICAR and the Secretariat for Digital Government; national providers of data and IT infrastructure, such as SERPRO, Dataprev, and RNP; as well as institutional data holders and registry organizations, including Receita Federal and the ONR real estate registry system.

The visit to ITC was preceded by a three-day study tour at Kadaster Nederland, which also served as preparation for a visit on 26 March to the Municipality of Enschede. There, the delegation had the opportunity to observe how cadastral processes operate at the municipal level and how local governance structures interact with national land administration systems.

The programme concluded with a morning of presentations and discussions at ITC focused on approaches to advancing the digital transformation of land governance, as well as opportunities for study and professional training for employees of Brazilian federal agencies.

This visit marks another important step in strengthening ITC’s connections and long-term commitment to Brazil’s land sector, and we look forward to building on this collaboration in the future.

The visit to the ITC Faculty at the University of Twente was a cornerstone of our international mission. Engaging with global experts on the digital transformation of land governance provided us with invaluable insights that will directly support our strategy to integrate Brazil’s land records. This partnership strengthens our commitment to building a modern, data-driven public infrastructure and exploring advanced professional training for our federal teams
