Passed week, the Fraunhofer Project Center took part in the SPIE Photonics West exhibition and conference in San Francisco, USA. Meeting up with all relevant players in the field of Photonics, the Fraunhofer Project Ceneter presented its new Photonic Incubator in the Netherlands, delivering dedicated precision assembly solutions for the production of Photonic systems and devices, ranging from prototyping up to high volume production.
The FPC booth was part of the Holland Pavilion, hosted by PhotonicsNL. Standing next to PHIX Photonics Assembly, key partner in the field of Photonics that is automating its production with our developed machine tool for multi-fiber connector assembly, FPC was able to underline its close interaction with industry and relevance for the market.
In addition to the booth, Tobias Müller from Fraunhofer IPT presented our developed solutions at the SPIE Photonics West Conference. In a session dedicated to assembly and packaging, he shared details on the automation of multi-fiber connector assembly with a large group of experts and potential customers that are facing challenges in upscaling their production.
