UTFFNTEvents of FFNTIWD2022: FFNT round table discussion "#BreakTheBias”

IWD2022: FFNT round table discussion "#BreakTheBias”

When: Tuesday, March 8, 2022
Time: 12.00 - 13.45 hrs (from 12.00 vegan lunch will be served)
Location: Building The Gallery, Design Lab, room INFORM (or online)

The Female Faculty Network Twente invites you to celebrate the International Women's together with students and staff of the University of Twente, and discuss together how to #BreakTheBias. This is the theme chosen for the International Women's Day 2022. The campaign provides a place to reflect on biases, stereotypes, and discrimination, to stand up for gender equality and work together for a diverse, equitable, and inclusive world, where difference is valued and celebrated.

We would like to accompany our members to an open discussion on biases that women face in academia (at all levels) and how those biases make it difficult for women to follow on their paths. But, most of all, we want to explore together the opportunities and develop ways to #BreakTheBias in our community, from the single lecture room to the broad university.

The round table discussion will be organized in a hybrid form, with invited speakers from UT, who can bring their experience to the table:

  • Prof. dr. ing. Bojana Rosic (Full professor, ET)
  • Dr. Pilar Ruiz Ramiro (Assistant professor, TNW - FFNT - Ambassadors’ Network)
  • Drs. David Korringa / Jeroen Jansen (ITC - SEG Shaping Individuals and Teams)
  • Ms. Meerim Karybaeva (PhD candidate, BMS)
  • Ms. Alexandra Mulder (Student, ET - Amnesty International student group)

We would like you to be part of this open discussion!

You can sign up here.

A variety of events will take place at the University of Twente, to celebrate IWD2022. Celebrate women's achievement. Raise awareness against bias. Take action for equality”. On the UT website, you can find the full program of the International Women's day at UT and more information on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at University of Twente.

Kind regards,
