Acoustics: from wooden recorders to digital sound design Science Café Enschede

Acoustics is the science of sound. But when you make music, working with acoustics also becomes an art. How do you take acoustics into account when making instruments? How did they do that in the past and how is it done today when your ‘instrument’ is digital? Recorder maker and engineer Jan Bouterse talks about the recorder and the factors that determine its sound. Sound designer Jaap Visser composes music for video games, among other things, and works mainly digitally. This presents new challenges and opportunities. An evening that will be music to your ears!
