Did you know that the average meal has travelled around 30,000 kilometres before it ends on your plate? In his project Food for Thought photographer and filmmaker Kadir van Lohuizen reveals a complex and worldwide food system in which the Netherlands plays a key role. The large scale and efficiency of our high-tech food industry evoke as much respect as they raise questions: what is the effect on the planet? How future-proof is it? Indeed food for thought!
During this session: screening of parts of the documentary Food for thought + discussion with Kadir van Lohuizen and others.
Footage and photos from Van Lohuizens project Food for thought will be shown in the Small Exhibition Space in the Vrijhof between 12 November and 12 January.
In cooperation with UT Climate Centre and Sports & Culture.
