Hormones: how parenthood affects body and mind Science Café Enschede

“It’s different when you have children of your own” is a frequently heard cliché. But just how different is it? Can you detect in your brain that your mind works differently after having children? Prof. dr. Peter Bos (Leiden University) is a neuroendocrinologist and conducts research into how hormones trigger a nurturing instinct in both mothers and fathers. And what about the rest of your body, which is visibly different? Dr. Marjolein de Boer (Tilburg University) investigates how women experience their own bodies after pregnancy and the menopause.

Moderator: dr. Yvonne Cuijpers (practical natural philosopher)

In cooperation with OBP Vrouwennetwerk.
