Presentation biography Harry van den Kroonenberg

Rector Magnificus Harry van den Kroonenberg was the driving force behind the emergence of the entrepreneurial university in the 1980s. With that, he uniquely profiled the University of Twente as a unique institution. He was initially mistaken by many, but eventually he was praised by just as many for his perseverance. Who was this man who, against the prevailing spirit of the times, made the university enterprising? Who were his opponents and opponents? And what did that bring the UT?

Book presentation

Author Marco Krijnsen has written a biography of this special man on the basis of the personal archive of Van den Kroonenberg and about twenty-five conversations, entitled, Pioneer and Prof. Harry van den Kroonenberg, founder of the entrepreneurial university. He will present this book on Friday 17 May to Ans van den Kroonenberg - Storms, the widow of Van den Kroonenberg, and to the Rector Magnificus of the UT, Thom Palstra.

Discussion

A panel consisting of Thom Palstra, Jaap Beernink, director of Novel-T, Dennis Schipper, former winner of the Van den Kroonenberg prize and Marco Krijnsen will be asked about the importance of the legacy of Harry van den Kroonenberg. And: does the entrepreneurial university still exist? The audience can also participate in the discussion.
