About the speaker

Sir Fraser Stoddart is head of the Stoddart Mechanostereochemistry Group, which is part of the Department of Chemistry at Northwestern University in Illinois, USA. In 2016, he was awarded the Nobel Prize for Chemistry for his research on molecular motors. He shared the prize with Dutchman Ben Feringa and Frenchman Jean-Pierre Sauvage. Since 2006, sir Stoddart holds an honorary doctorate at the University of Twente.
