Title: “Reflections, Projections and Dreams.”
Abstract for the presentation:
In this introductory talk I will briefly describe some of the research I have undertaken over the last two decades and outline my research plans and ambitions for the future. The first half of the talk will summarise the main outcomes of my previous research into the dynamics of seasonally open tidal inlets, medium term nearshore morphodynamics (using ARGUS video imaging), coastal protection via submerged structures (including artificial surfing reefs), climate change and climate variability impacts on Australian coasts. The second half of the talk will focus on the AXA Chair research program on Climate change impacts and Coastal Risk that I am currently implementing at UNESCO-IHE. Some of the key results obtained to date and future expectations will be presented.
