Research Objective

Research in this chair aims at designing, implementation and validation of (model based) controllers for High Performance Integrated

Systems. For example, fabrication/production systems, using innovative design, actuating, sensing and control principles, and state-of-the-art computer technology. This is the field of mechatronic systems, consisting of mechanics, actuator(s), sensors and a digital control  system. For maximum position-control performance, the mechanical constructions should be light weight and stiff; while for accuracy and repeatability of motion, it is essential that kinematic design principles are applied whenever possible. All these activities are backed up with modeling and experimental identification.
