Andani was born in Denpasar, the capital city of Bali, Indonesia. She obtained both her bachelor and master degree from Regional and City Planning Department, Institut Teknologi Bandung, focused on infrastructure and transportation planning.

After her graduation, she has worked as a lecture in her hometown university and did several spatial planning projects. In the early 2015, she was appointed as a lecturer in her alma-mater university, Institut Teknologi Bandung. In June 2015, she started working as a Ph.D student in the Centre of Transport Studies, University of Twente.

Her research covers the governance aspect on infrastructure development, travel behavior, urban mobility and accessibility, and its impact to regional economic development.

In her free time, she enjoys listening to music, watching movies, or just being outdoors and spending time with her friends.
