Main research interests are nonlinear solid mechanics, numerical methods, optimization and tribology
Research is performed on advanced friction modeling in cooperation with the University of Twente and the industrial partner Tata Steel. The motivation of his project arises from the automotive industry where simulations of sheet metal products are everyday practice. An accurate forming analysis can however only be made if, amongst others, the material behavior and friction conditions are modeled accurately. The objective of his project is to provide an improved macroscopic friction model including microscopic dependencies.

Innprove Solutions is a consultancy and software engineering company for the virtual design and stochastic optimization of products and processes. Our goal is to help and guide our customer in making the challenging step from an initial product and process design to a robust and reliable manufacturing process. Specialized in the usage of simulation tools for virtual product design, we make the next step to numerical optimization and robust optimization. By doing so, production problems that seem to be random or unavoidable can be recognized and solved at an early stage of product development.
