A step-wise information and data management approach for Arcadis Amersfoort

Researcher: Ramon ter Huurne
Project Duration: February 2016 – August 2016
Project Partner: Arcadis

Problem definition and research goal:

Within the research, it will be analyzed how the similar area data from the multiple performance contracts can be coupled and integrated, so better analyses can be done and the maintenance can be planned with a higher certainty. This eventually results in the development of a new information and data management approach for Arcadis concerning how they have to manage the information and data of similar area data of the performance contracts within the cooperation with the contractor, Van Doorn. The objective of this research is thus:

Develop a step-wise information and data management approach for Arcadis Amersfoort, which enables them to use and integrates the similar area data for maintenance planning between multiple performance contracts.

The new information and data management approach will consist of a step-wise approach. This means that the approach will provide Arcadis the steps they have to implement to reach a fully integrated data management model or system between the multiple performance contracts to optimize the maintenance planning. These steps begin relatively simple, with in the end more complex steps which enable Arcadis to make full use of the integration of the similar area data. The objective is therefore an approach, which described the steps to be taken to reach a fully integrated data and information system between the multiple performance contracts. The step-wise approach will start with recommendations on the data quality, then the dataset, then the maintenance processes and at last the maintenance activities.
