After nearly four years at the University of Twente, Professors Harm Askes and Inna Gitman will continue their academic careers at Maastricht University.
Professor Harm Askes will step down from his roles as Head of the Department of Civil Engineering and Management and as Professor of Computational Mechanics of Multiscale Materials. As of December 1, 2025, he will join Maastricht University as Vice Dean of the Faculty of Science and Engineering.
Professor Inna Gitman will also leave the University of Twente, where she serves as Chair of Computational Design of Structural Materials. She will also join the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Maastricht University as Professor of Computational Mechanics.
The University of Twente and the Faculty of Engineering Technology warmly thank Professor Askes and Gitman for their valuable contributions to education, research and leadership during their time in Twente. We wish them every success in their new roles in Maastricht.
