The design process of a product starts with the product specifications, from which a design concept is made. Subsequently, materialisation of the concept entails aspects of design, production and materials. This course provides a helping hand for designers on these subjects. Focus points are Surface Treatments and Coatings, Design in Composite Materials and Corrosion Resistance. In the course, attention is paid to mass production as well as small series. The course will be concluded with assignments and an oral examination.
The Laboratory for Surface technology and Tribology provides a part of this course.
