Anke Blume, PhD
Anke Blume was born on April 6, 1969 in Hanover, Germany. She studied chemistry at the Technical University of Hanover (Germany). At the German Institute of Rubber Technology (DIK) in Hannover she obtained her PhD degree on a thesis titled “Mechanistik und einflußnehmende Parameter der Bildung von N-Nitrosaminen bei der Herstellung und Lagerung von Vulkanisaten”(Mechanism and influencing parameters for the formation of N-nitrosamines at the production and storage of rubber vulcanizates). In 1996 she joined the company Degussa in Cologne, Germany (now named “Evonik Industries”). She was in charge of the development of silica and silanes for rubber applications especially for low rolling resistance tires. Since 2011 she is responsible for the intellectual property of Evonik regarding the use of silica and silanes in rubber applications. She became the chairman of the ETE department on October 1, 2013, succeeding Prof. Dr. Jacques Noordermeer. She is working part-time for the university and part-time for Evonik. Anke Blume is the co-inventor of 14 patents.
Anke Blume is married to Ulrik Neupert and has three children: Anninka, Rikkart and Hinrik.
