DPM Runners Take on the 54th Batavieren Race – Spirit, Smiles, and 175km

This year, the DPM Runners proudly took on the 54th Batavieren race (the world's largest relay race), once again making the wonderful journey from Nijmegen to Enschede.

Clad all in blue, the team powered through a total of 175 km. It was amazing day to be part of such an energetic crowd. Despite the distance and a few unexpected twist (e.g., the bike needs to be changed), the runners persevered and crossed the finish line with smiles all around! The vibes? Absolutely fantastic! Of course, the BBQ and after-party were as appreciated as always! But the most important was connecting with everyone and having an incredible time together.

Thanks go to all runners for representing DPM with great team spirit, special thanks also go to our final runners, who showed the stick figure suits with creative and unique style. Apparently, it also sparked some fun research ideas. Thank you to everyone who came out to cheer the team on, whether in person or virtually!

We are also grateful to the workshop team for preparing the bike and car numbers and also arranging BBQ, and to the secretariat and Optimus for arranging the preparation. And finally, a huge thank you to DPM for funding the team once again.

The official results can be found here – the DPM Runners are Team number 007:
