At University of Twente’s New Year’s Meeting on 5 January 2026, Maike Hübner was awarded the UT in the Media Award 2026.
Maike received the award in recognition of the outstanding international media attention generated by her research on native advertising on social media. The findings stem from a thorough multi-method study published in Frontiers in Psychology (https://doi.org/10.3389/fpsyg.2025.1636910). The study attracted widespread media coverage across the globe, including outlets in Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Germany, Mexico, Portugal, and Spain,
Maike Hübner is a PhD candidate at the Chair of Product–Market Relations. Her doctoral research is co-supervised by Jörg Henseler and Julia Thalmann.
The UT in the Media Award honors UT staff and students whose work successfully reaches a broad audience and contributes to societal debate beyond academia.
