Study tour Brazil 2010
Every two years Study association ConcepT organizes an intercontinental study tour. This provides students with the opportunity to explore civil engineering outside Europe. The next study tour will be in September-October 2010, when students will travel to Brazil. Brazil is a very diverse and large country in South America with one of the largest developing economies in the world.
Goal of the study tour committee is to organize a three week, intercontinental tour for 26 student participants (last year Bachelor students or Master students). Two academic researchers from the faculty will join the study tour delegation to represent the University and advice during the tour. Before the tour takes place, all student participants follow an extensive preparatory course. The preparation will consists of a master course (7,5EC), contract research, and a Portuguese language course. ConcepT plans to visit cultural highlights, universities, and conduct excursions to major civil engineering projects and related companies. The tour enables the student participants to develop their academic skills, put their own knowledge within an international framework, and gain an in-depth knowledge of civil engineering in Brazil and the Brazilian culture.
The focus of the study tour will be Civil Engineering and Management in Brazil. Currently, the study tour committee explores themes and possibilities for excursions within Brazil. Jimmy Avendano Castillo, Ibsen Chivatá Cárdenas and Daan Schraven are affiliated with South America. They help ConcepT on behalf of the CME Department with the preparation of the study tour by using their network and knowledge of this region.
More help for ConcepT is vital!
