The focus in on hydraulics, sediment dynamics and morphology in rivers, coastal and offshore areas. Taking the nature based-solutions approach, we learn from natural processes to design interferences to guarantee water safety and other user functions as e.g. navigation, sand mining. We like to collaborate with biologists and social scientists and the major part of our research involves users as Deltares, RWS, Waterboards, consultancy firms and dredging organisations.
