On November 13, Professor Richard J. Boucherie celebrated his 25th anniversary at the University of Twente. The festive afternoon event brought together many colleagues for congratulations, drinks, and snacks. A highlight of the celebration was a speech by Judith Timmer, who took the audience on an “ABC of Richard.” For each letter of the alphabet, she shared an anecdote, characteristic, or contribution linked to Richard’s academic career and personal qualities. For example, in Richard's case, the letter Q was an easy task, as Queueing Theory is one of his main research interests. During the ceremony, Richard received flowers and several presents. He also shared a few words himself, looking back on the past 25 years and expressing gratitude for past and ongoing collaborations, highlighting the opportunities the region offers for impactful work.
