SIL-EE Rules, Safety and Protocols

In order to access the lab a procedure needs to be followed, please read it carefully and follow it.

The Rules stated in this section need to be followed at all times and by all users of the SIL-EE. Please read this section with extreme attention. Don't hesitate to contact the lab assistants for any questions or doubts you may have.

General Lab Rules

The following set of rules are intended to keep the labs as a well-organized, fully functional, and pleasant working space. The use of this lab space implies the acceptance and compliance with these rules. Non-compliant users will be held liable.

  1. Access to the lab is only allowed to users who have received a Lab Introduction (planned through mailing sil-ee@utwente.nl) by the lab assistants and signed the Safety Form
  2. Equipment in the lab can only be reserved and used after receiving the respective introduction from the lab assistants.
  3. No eating or drinking (Only PET bottles with caps are allowed, no mugs, no beakers).
  4. If you need a portable device (soldering, VNA, MokuPro, etc.), please ask permission from the lab supervisor or lab assistants.
  5. Moving the larger equipment (i.e., PCB-machines, laser cutter, 3D printer etc) is not allowed.
  6. Defective / missing equipment should be reported to the lab assistant (email sil-ee@utwente.nl).
  7. Do not remove the computer peripherals (Monitor, mouse, keyboard etc.).

  1. Read the Safety Rules (general lab rules and specific equipment rules).
  2. Fill in and submit the Safety Form down below.
  3. Book an introduction appointment by emailing sil-ee@utwente.nl. An introduction is required for all equipment except the Soldering Station.

Safety form

A signed Safety Form is required to access the lab and use any equipment. You can fill in the online form down below. As a fallback, if for whatever reason the form doesn't work you can send either one of the downloadable ones to sil-ee@utwente.nl.

During your work in the laboratories, there is a risk of injury and/or damage to the equipment. That is why you are requested to be careful, stay alert and act responsibly; Use your good judgment and common sense, as well as follow all given safety rules, either written and/or oral ones.

If you're an external user, please describe us who you are (if you're just an external* researcher, a company) and submit to get in touch with us!

  • *(external means non-UT affiliated)
  • **External users are expected to offer something in return for using SIL-EE

The form needs to be signed by all students in the group and by their supervisor (i.e. module coordinator or teacher)
