We are proud to share that the paper “An Ontological Model of the Phishing Attack Process”, authored by the following SCS researchers Giancarlo Guizzardi, Ítalo Oliveira, Tiago Prince Sales, Dipti K. Sarmah, Maya Daneva, and Glenda Amaral, has won the Best Paper Award at EMMSAD 2025 – the Working Conference on Exploring Modeling Methods for Systems Analysis and Development, held in conjunction with CAiSE 2025.
This award-winning research introduces a rigorous ontological framework for modeling the phishing attack process. It contributes significantly to the understanding of cyber threats by formalizing the roles, tactics, and stages involved in phishing, and supports the development of more effective countermeasures and security awareness models.
