New University Teaching Qualifications awarded to EEMCS staff

The EEMCS faculty board is very proud to announce that on Wednesday, July 3, 7 new University Teaching Qualifications (UTQ) were awarded. The participants, Mike Boldy, Anton Stoorvogel, Jasper de Jong, Bernard Geurts, Mark Oude Alink, Andreas Kamilaris and Matthias Schlottbom, received a certificate, flowers and a lunch, in the presence of the portfolio holder of education Stephan van Gils and the dean of the faculty, Joost Kok.

Congratulations to everyone!

At the faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science, we value teacher development highly. Next to UTQ one there are other initiatives to improve your teaching skills. Stephan and Joost emphasized the importance of good quality education. The UTQ is the start for every teacher, besides there are good possibilities to improve the education by researching your own courses. This can be done for example via the SUTQ or the UTeachers’ Academy@EEMCS, writing proposals for Comenius, SURF or NRO.  Academic staff is challenged to become an excellent teacher and to inspire fellow colleagues along the way.
