Pervasive Systems Group Hosts iWOAR 2025 at University of Twente

The Pervasive Systems Research Group proudly hosted the 10th International Workshop on Sensor-Based Activity Recognition and Artificial Intelligence (iWOAR 2025) at the DesignLab, University of Twente. Over two inspiring days, we welcomed around 40 participants to explore the latest advancements in sensor-based AI and its applications.

A heartfelt thank you to our keynote speakers, Michael Beigl. and Kate Farrahi, whose thought-provoking talks set the stage for vibrant discussions and exchange of ideas.

The workshop covered a wide spectrum of topics, including:

  • Next-Gen Human Activity Recognition
  • AI for Health Tech
  • Data Generation and Cleaning for Robust AI
  • Wearable Monitoring for Cognitive and Physiological States
  • Advanced Sensing and Interaction for Human-Centered Systems

Highlights also included Poster Sessions and 1-minute Lightning Talks, showcasing the remarkable breadth of research within our community. Explore the scope of contributions here: iWOAR 2025 Highlights

The full workshop papers will soon be published by Springer.

We extend our sincere gratitude to all presenters, attendees, and the dedicated organizing committee — chaired by Özlem Durmaz Incel, together with Nikita Sharma, Gwen Qin, Jeroen Klein Brinke, Denys J.C.M., Gerald Bieber, and Arjan Kuijper — whose efforts ensured the success of iWOAR 2025.
