Jeanne Parmentier, a PhD candidate in both the Pervasive Systems research group and at the University of Utrecht, has been awarded the Best Poster Award at the 10th international Workshop on Sensor-Based Activity Recognition and Artificial Intelligence (iWOAR) 2025.
Her poster, titled “Monitoring harness trotters in diverse cases using an online platform to collect synchronised physiology and locomotion data”, presents results obtained with a newly developed online platform that enables real-time and synchronised collection of physiological and locomotion data from Standardbred trotting horses.
The research demonstrates how combining physiology and motion signals in one system can open new opportunities for objective, field-ready monitoring of equine performance and welfare.
