CONNECT:
AD-HOC LORA NETWORK IN EXTREMELY LOSSY ENVIRONMENT

Status: Assigned
Student: Joël Ledelay

Problem Statement:

It is proven that Lora network in  Lora WAN protocol is practical and applicable in free air. There are a lot of available Lora hardware and deployed Lora network. Lora has advantage in air but can we have this advantage in soil which is almost the adverse environment for radio wave.

  1. Lora WAN communicate from LoRa node to gateway. How can LoRa module to LoRa module communicate?
  2. Lora WAN is star network. But how can data be sent directly from nodes in deep soil to gateway above earth?

Tasks:

The students study LORA modulation and learn how to build own Lora p2p communication protocol based on radio control command sets. From that protocol, students develop suitable network protocol for applications in extremely lossy environment of soil. Field tests are required to verify this project.

  1. Program to control p2p Lora communication
  2. Build MAC control to relay day from source to sink.
  3. Testing

Work:

20% Theory, 60% Coding and Testing, 20%Writing.
