Biography

Danilo Izzo was born in Naples, Italy, in 1981. In 2009, he received his M.Sc. degree in telecommunication engineering from the University 'Federico II' in Naples with a thesis on antenna diversity measurements of DVB-T signals in mobility conditions. He has been working in the testing area for electro-magnetic compatibility since 2009 and in 2017 devoted research in the field of the measurement uncertainty problem for the radiated emission test in the range 150 kHz to 1000 MHz according to the international standard CISPR 25. He is the co-author of the paper 'Reproducibility of CISPR 25 ALSE Test Method' presented at the 2017 IEEE EMC Symposium, where it received recognition as the Best Symposium Paper. His main professional experiences are in the field of automotive exterior lighting (e.g., LED or Xenon headlamps) and autonomous driving technologies. Since 2017 he has been involved in the PCB design for EMI control, signal and power integrity of automotive electronic components.

In March 2019 he joined the German automotive corporation Daimler AG and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. research program within the Power Electronics group (former Telecommunication Engineering group) of the University of Twente as external candidate.  His Ph.D. research is focused on the application of a new type of reverberation chamber, namely the Vibrating Intrinsic Reverberation Chamber (VIRC), in the automotive industry.
