The European Commission is investing more than €63.5 million in four pilot projects to lay the ground work for building a European network of centres of cybersecurity expertise. This will help to reinforce research and coordination of cybersecurity in the EU. The four pilots, CONCORDIAECHOSPARTA and CyberSec4Europe are tasked to contribute to a common European Cybersecurity Research & Innovation Roadmap beyond 2020 and a European cybersecurity strategy for industry.

variety of tasks

The four Horizon 2020 pilot projects will develop a sustainable European cybersecurity competence network. On the other hand, they will implement a variety of tasks. Think of cybersecurity demonstration cases in eHealth, finance, telecommunications, smart cities, transportation, Cyber Range and trainings or programmes to tackle the cybersecurity-skills gab in EU. This is also focused on deliver innovative marketable solutions made in EU to tackle the future cross domain cybersecurity challenges. The projects will closely cooperate and coordinate their activities. In addition, they are expected to work together with the European cybersecurity ecosystem in order to advance the way cybersecurity research, innovation and deployment is performed in Europe, and across sectors of our economy.

CONCORDIA is a major H2020 consortium to interconnect Europe’s Cybersecuritycapabilities. It will establish a pilot for a Cybersecurity Competence Network and will lead the development ofa common Cybersecurity Research & Innovation Roadmap for Europe.
