Boudewijn Haverkort new dean at Tilburg School of Humanities and Digital Sciences

As of 1 January 2019, Boudewijn Haverkort (DACS department) will leave the UT and start his new position as dean of Tilburg School of Humanities and Digital Sciences. 

Boudewijn Haverkort has been professor of 'Design and analysis of communication systems' at the University of Twente since 2003. In this position he is responsible for education and research projects in the field of reliable computer communication systems. From 2017, Boudewijn has fulfilled the function of discipline chairman for the Computer Science discipline within the faculty, also in the period from 2008-2009 he fulfilled this position. In addition to an impressive scientific profile, Boudewijn is also known for its extensive network.

Since February 2016, Boudewijn is chairman of Commit2Data, the national public-private research program in the field of big data and big data applications. This collaboration is supported by NWO, TNO, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and private partners. Within this research program, dozens of research projects in the field of big data and applications are starting up in, among others, the energy, logistics, insurance and banking, healthcare, and creative industries sector.
