Jelle Bakker wins ESSERC best student paper award

At the 50th Euopean Solid-State Research Conference, Jelle Bakker received the best student paper award for the paper titled "Electrical and Optical Characterisation of Gateless 22nm FDSOI PIN-Diodes at 850nm". He worked on the characterization of PIN photodiodes in 22nm FDSOI. The presented SOI PIN-diodes open the way to new THz circuits, PCM structures, and optical applications, and enable new interfacing possibilities between the hybrid (bulk) and SOI layers via electrostatic interaction.
