Risk & Resilience Festival - Digital Autonomy

On Thursday, 5 November 2026, the campus of the University of Twente will host the Risk & Resilience Festival. This edition focuses on a theme that is becoming increasingly urgent for organisations and governments: digital autonomy.

Our societies are rapidly becoming dependent on digital systems, data and technologies. While this creates new opportunities for innovation and efficiency, it also introduces fundamental risks. What happens when organisations lose control over their digital infrastructures? And how does technological dependency affect the safety, continuity and resilience of organisations and society as a whole?

During the festival, scientists, public leaders and professionals will explore these questions from multiple perspectives. Together, we will examine how organisations can maintain control in a world where digital technologies increasingly shape decision making, security and societal stability.

The festival offers a strong substantive programme with inspiring sessions, fresh insights and plenty of opportunities to connect. A day for professionals, leaders and researchers who want to engage with the risks and opportunities of our digital future.
