EEMCS Networking Event 2026

Welcome to the EEMCS Networking Event 2026!  We invite you to an afternoon of networking, exchanging ideas, and having fun.

🕛 Time: 11:45 – 17:00 (+ networking afterwards)
📍 Venue: De Grolsch Veste (FC Twente Football Stadium)

Below is the intended program. Please save the date, register and join us! 

Program 

• 11:45 – 12:30 | Welcome Lunch & Optional Stadium Tours
  Start the afternoon with lunch and meet colleagues from across EEMCS. During this time, optional guided tours of the stadium will also be available.
• 12:30 – 13:00 | Opening Session
  The event officially opens with a welcome from the dean, who will provide an update on key developments, priorities, and future directions within the faculty.
• 13:00 – 13:45 | PhD Pitch Session
  Our PhD candidates will present their research in short one-slide pitches, showcasing innovative work from across EEMCS. The audience will vote live for the best pitches, with the winners announced during the closing session.
• 13:45 – 14:30 | Research Networking Sessions
  Following a brief introduction to the University's impact domains, participants will join small-group discussions centred around

  • Chip Technology
• 14:30 – 15:00 | Coffee Break
• 15:00 – 16:30 | Interactive Panel Discussions
  Each panel will feature a panel discussion followed by an open conversation with the audience. Participants will choose two of four panel sessions 
  • AI & Education
  • AI & Research
  • AI & Sustainability
  • AI & Sovereignity
• 16:30 – 17:00 | Closing Session
  The day concludes with the announcement of the PhD Pitch Award winners, a summary of the key insights from the networking and panel sessions, and a look ahead at the next steps for strengthening collaboration within EEMCS.
• 17:00 onwards | Social Networking
  Continue the conversations over drinks in the stadium's pub area and take the opportunity to meet colleagues in an informal setting.
