On 6 October 2025, Aswin Ramesh Vadavathi successfully defended his PhD at the University of Twente, supervised by Prof. Johann Hurink and Dr. Gerwin Hoogsteen.

Aswin’s research, “Fair Voltage Regulation and Energy Management in Smart Distribution Grids,” addresses one of the key challenges of the energy transition: how to keep increasingly decentralised power grids both stable and fair. He developed control algorithms that ensure prosumers from homes with solar panels to local battery systems share grid capacity equitably, while maintaining the necessary technical performance.
Congratulations, Dr. Aswin, and best wishes for the next chapter!
