A new method for conducting annual reviews was introduced at the University of Twente in 2025. For our faculty, 2025 was considered a transitional year. From 2026 onwards, we kindly ask employees and supervisors to follow the new interview guidelines and no longer use the former FJUT forms. The annual review can now be fully processed in AFAS.
Planning the annual reviews
As in previous years, supervisors will receive a reminder in the spring to schedule the annual reviews. Some departments prefer a different period in the year — this is perfectly fine. The most important thing is that every employee has an annual conversation about their development.
Extra attention to well-being and work environment
This year, we ask for particular attention to topics related to psychosocial workload, including:
- workload
- (social) safety
- mental and physical health
These are themes we consider important and wish to embed structurally in the conversations.
Conversation card and documentation in AFAS
The conversation card contains suggested topics to support reflection between employee and supervisor.
Documents and additional information about the annual review process are available in AFAS under ‘My Development’. From there, you will also find a link to the Service Portal with more detailed information.
Questions?
If you have any questions, please contact your HR advisor or HR assistant.
You can find your HR contact person via the HR information page.
We will draw attention to this information again in the spring.
