On 20 May 2025, Dr Brendan Kelly (Harvard University) gave a guest presentation at the University of Twente within the Week of Education, entitled “Refocusing Introductory Mathematics Courses on Modelling.” In his talk, Dr Kelly shared insights from redesigning introductory mathematics courses with a strong emphasis on modelling, highlighting design principles, example tasks, and data on student outcomes.
