Title: PhD thesis revival: Network Management Architectures
It is fun writing a PhD thesis. It is even more fun having written a PhD thesis! But who cares once the thesis has been defended? Does the thesis 15 to 20 years after the defense still contain relevant information?
Although a general answer to these questions can not easily be given, this colloquium will take as example the presenter's thesis, which was defended in 1995. The thesis is called "Network Management Architectures". Which ideas presented in this thesis are still relevant at times we discuss "Autonomic Management" and Openflow? And which ideas turned out to be useless, and why?
