New website research programme digital society

Today, the new website on the research programme Digital Society has been launched.

In the research programme, thirty professors of the fourteen Dutch universities join forces and work together to secure the Netherlands leading international position in the field of human-centred information technology and to find solutions to global challenges. The research programme focuses on seven important societal themes on which digitalization will have a great impact: Citizenship & Democracy, Responsible Data Science, Health & WellBeing, Learning & Education, Work & Organisations, Digital Cities & Communities and Safety & Security.

The UT plays an important role in the theme Health and Well-Being, where eight Universities work closely together. University Leiden (Andrea Evers) and the University of Twente are coordinating the activities of this consortium. For our university, this theme fits perfectly with the this year started UT wide program “Personalised eHealth Technology” states Hermie Hermens, the coordinator of this program. It also underlines the success of our multidisciplinary approach to improve healthcare with innovative healthcare technology.
