PhD position in biomedical signal processing applied to detect sleep disordered breathing

The Biomedical Signals and Systems (BSS) group at the University of Twente has an opening for a PhD candidate, funded by the MIRA research institute, within the research area of biomedical signal processing. The BSS group is part of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science and the research Institutes MIRA and CTIT of the University of Twente.

The objective of the project is to increase the accessibility of sleep disordered breathing (SDB) assessment by developing and clinically validating an at-home SDB assessment tool using a smartphone-based pulse oximeter. This tool will permit to assess and monitor SDB severity at home.
