Studying at UT

One of the first things to do upon arrival is to register online with a general practitioner. You will also need to confirm your registration during a registration appointment.

Registering with a general practitioner is obligatory

Please be aware of the fact that it is obligatory to be registered with a general practitioner (doctor) during your stay in the Netherlands when you are staying longer than six months.

Your doctor is your first contact person for all health related questions and problems. Medical specialists, hospital tests and prescription drugs are only accessible with a referral from your general practitioner. Specialized medical services include surgeons, eye specialist, ENT doctors, gynecologist and orthopedist. You can find a general practitioner through this website (in Dutch only) by downloading the lists of general practitioners for Mid-Twente, Enschede and/or Almelo.
