I am a coordinator research support for the faculty of Engineering Technology and in this role I am the first point of contact for researchers if they have questions related to research support. I also support the Faculty Board with matters related to the development of policy on research support.
In my role as a Privacy Contact Person (PCP) for the Faculty of ET, I am the first contact for questions regarding the GDPR and therefore in particular the GDPR in the context of research.
There are many developments within ET in the context of Research Data Management. Together with the Research Data Steward, I am responsible for developing RDM policy documents and answer questions from researchers in the field of RDM.
In 2020, the faculty ET, together with the Science and Technology faculty, set up an ethics committee and I fulfill the role of Secretary within the Ethics Committee Natural Sciences and Engineering Sciences and will be the point of contact for researchers if they have questions about ethical aspects in research.
I am your point of contact for advice on all ICT related questions that are not related to the usage of standard offered ICT facilities. Some examples that I can support you with are:
- Dedicated computer and software solutions for research purposes.
- Different computing solutions: from a powerful PC to cloud computing.
- Different storage solutions: from UT storage to cloud storage.
As Information Specialist for the faculty of Engineering Technology I am the link between the faculty and the University Library. I support researchers on subjects such as, publishing, finding & acquiring literature, research impact & visibility, and copyright.
I teach Information Literacy in the Bachelor's programmes of Engineering Technology. My lectures are always adapted to a specific module or project. I aim to help students find, access and judge sources of information and use this information in a responsible and correct manner.
As member of the SBD-Grants Office, I am the liaison with ET faculty. I advise and support researchers with all questions about grants and funding possibilities for their research. My specialty is on personal grants, where I am the Veni-coordinator at UT and coach a large group of young researchers through this application. Within RST I will bring extra effort to expanding and growing our pool of talented researchers and further develop the processes around grants, network and strategy.
Currently 5 PDEng programmes are running at the University of Twente (4 at ET, 1 at EEMCS). In my role as PDEng officer I am the first contact for PDEng trainees and support, advise the Graduate school, coordinator PDEng programmes and the PDEng programme directors, keep all information and statutes up-to-date, organize small events, and manage small/moderate projects.
In research support I am mostly concerned with research self-studies, project preparations, networking and communication.

25 years of experience with the preparation of self-assessment-, and mid-term reports for research and education, site visits, and as a secretary or member of research, management and education related committees.
