STRUCTURED PHD PROGRAMMES
PhD candidates at the UT are supposed to fill their PhD trajectory with 30 credits of education. These courses can be taken at several research schools, but also at the UT's Centre for Training and Development or at the Twente Graduate School itself and are meant as deepening, broadening, academic skills and career development courses.
The Twente Graduate School programmes offer guidelines for structured programmes to be individually tailored with your professor, so that your programme fits in with your objectives.
Integrated master's and PhD programmes
Twente Graduate School offers talented researchers integrated Master's and PhD programmes. Did you know from an early age that research was where your heart lay? Excellent research institutes
The UT has five excellent research institutes which are explicitly involved in TGS. Heard about our MESA+, Institute for Nanotechnology, one of the world's leaders in the field of Nanotechnology, with its own cleanroom? Or CTIT, ICT Research in Context, the largest academic research institute in the field of ICT and ICT applications in the Netherlands. We also have the MIRA Institute for Biomedical Technology and Technical Medicine which, with experimental Centre for Technical Medicine, has strong links with hospitals, the world of business and the government. IGS, the Institute for Innovation and Governance Studies, is one of the top research institutes of the University of Twente, performing multi-disciplinary research and postgraduate research training in the field of governance and management of technological and social innovation. Lastly, the ITC enjoys international recognition in the field of Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation.
