Career perspectives

Completing the Master’s in Psychology with a specialisation in Health Psychology & Technology will open up excellent job opportunities. You can look forward to a career as a policymaker, adviser, intervention designer or researcher, to name a few of your options. You could also continue with a PhD, or even start up your own business.

Type of degree

When you have completed this Master's with the specialisation in Health Psychology & Technology, you will receive a Master’s degree in Psychology along with the title Master of Science (MSc.). Your specialisation will be mentioned specifically on your diploma supplement, highlighting your specialised knowledge and skills in health psychology and technology.

Job opportunities

As a graduate of this specialisation, numerous career paths are open to you. With the growing importance of public health initiatives, your ability to bridge psychology and healthcare is highly valuable. You could take a leading role in coordinating, designing, implementing, and evaluating health-promoting interventions for the public, patients, and caregivers.

Graduates work as policy officers, coordinators of health psychology interventions, or researchers at organisations such as the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM), or the Netherlands Institute for Sport and Physical Activity (NISB). Other organisations eager for professionals with your expertise include hospitals, healthcare facilities, patient federations, local public health services (GGDs), research institutes, and (eHealth) companies. Some alumni also pursue careers in higher education as lecturers.

UT alumni with this specialisation currently work in various positions and organisations, for example:
  • eHealth developer at Tactus addiction care
  • Project Leader Monitor Care & Innovation at Nivel (Netherlands Institute for Health Services Research)
  • Lecturer Public Health at Brunel University London
