Admission and application for international students

1. Make sure to meet the deadline for accepting our Offer of Admission:

• 15 November (2023) for Non-EEA (VISA) nationalities: you need a residence permit for the Netherlands/visa when you wish to live and study here. Note that your current nationality is leading, even if you have a Dutch or European residence permit. You can check via the website of the Dutch government if you have an EEA nationality. When your nationality is not on the list, you have a non-EEA nationality. The visa/residence permit procedure only starts after accepting your Offer of Admission, be aware of those deadlines as well: When receiving your rank on 15 November, you must accept the Offer of Admission on the same day, in order to start arranging your visa in time, see: Visa deadlines (utwente.nl)
• 1 December (2023) if you have a nationality of one of the European Economic Area (EEA) or if you have Dutch nationality, in possession of an international (foreign) diploma.

2. Make sure to meet the deadline to submit the final certified photocopies:

• 1 February (2024): your application will not be completed until the final certified photocopies are provided. The sooner the documents are provided, the sooner your application file will be completed.

Candidates that have not been selected will be placed on the waiting list, in the order of their position on the placement list (by ranking number). Candidates will sequentially be placed in the PCPT specialisation as long as places are vacated, until the 23^rd of December 2023 at the latest depending on the visa deadlines applicable based on your nationality. Please check your e-mail (including spam folder) regularly (=preferably daily) from the 15^th  of November until the 23^rd of December, because if we inform you about a placing offer from the waiting list, you need to inform us within a short period of time (one or two weeks) if you will accept our offer for a place in the PCPT specialisation.

If you have not been selected (after placement on the waiting list), you are not able to start the PCPT master specialisation. In that case, you have the following options:

1. Take part in the selection procedure again, up to a maximum of three times in total.
2. Choose one of the other master specialisations instead of PCPT. If you are interested in one of the other specialisations in our master (as a second choice), you can/need to indicate this already in your application process. Then the admission committee will assess your admissibility for that master specialisation.

To be considered for admission to a MSc programme, applicants should have at least Licenciado degree or Professional Title with a final cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 7.5/10.0.

To be considered for admission to a MSc programme, applicants should have at least a Bachelor (Honours) degree with a final cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 2^nd class (honours) upper or first division.

To be considered for admission to a MSc programme, applicants should have a Bachelor degree, Diplom-Ingenieur or Magister degree.

To be considered for admission to a MSc programme, applicants should have a Bachelor degree or Specialist Diplma with a final cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 70%

To be considered for admission to a MSc programme, applicants should have at least 4 year Honours Bachelor degree with a final cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 3.5/4.0.

Legal restrictions in relation to dual use technology

Students from Belarus are welcome to study at UT. However, please note that restrictions may be in place when you apply for a technical study at the University of Twente and have Belarussian nationality. The restrictions are in response to international sanctions on technical assistance in relation to dual use technology. You can find more information at the Student Services website.

To be considered for admission to a MSc programme, applicants should have a Bachelor degree or Professional Title.

To be considered for admission to a MSc programme, applicants should have a Licenciado degree or 4 year Professional Title with a final cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 75%.

To be considered for admission to a MSc programme, applicants should have at least a 5 year Bachelor degree from the University of Botswana with a final cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 70%.

To be considered for admission to a MSc programme, applicants should have at least Bacharel or Licenciado with a final cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 7.5/10.0.

To be considered for admission to a MSc programme, applicants should have at least Diploma za Zavarsheno Visshe Obrazovanie with a Specialist degree or Bakalavr degree.

To be considered for admission to a MSc programme, applicants should have a Bachelor degree  with a final cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 80%.

To be considered for admission to a MSc programme, applicants should have at least a Licence, Bachelor or Maitrise/Master degree with a final cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 14.0/20.0 or 3.5/4.0.

To be considered for admission to a MSc programme, applicants should have a Licenciatura degree or 4 year Professional Title with a final cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 5.0/7.0.

To be considered for admission to a MSc programme, applicants should have a 4 year Bachelor degree with a final cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 75%.

In addition to that, your application will also be reviewed based on the institution (such as Project 985, Project 211 Institution, First Class University, First Discipline University, Double First Class University, or other) you have attended.

To be considered for admission to a MSc programme, applicants should have a Licenciado degree or 4 year Professional Title with a final cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 3.5/5.0.

To be considered for admission to a MSc programme, applicants should have a Maitrise degree or Diplome des Etudes Superieures with a final cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 14.0/20.0.

To be considered for admission to a MSc programme, applicants should have a Bachiller or Licenciado degree with a final cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 7.5/10.0.

To be considered for admission to a MSc programme, applicants should have a Professional of University Baccalaureus degree.

To be considered for admission to a MSc programme, applicants should have a Licenciado degree or Titulo degree with a final cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 4.0/5.0.

To be considered for admission to a MSc programme, applicants should have a Bachelor degree or Ptychio.

To be considered for admission to a MSc programme, applicants should have a Bakalar (Bachelor degree).

To be considered for admission to a MSc programme, applicants should have a (Professional) Bachelor degree .

To be considered for admission to a MSc programme, applicants should have a Bachelor degree obtained at a Higher Institute or University with a final cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 3.0/4.0.

To be considered for admission to a MSc programme, applicants should have a Bachelor degree .

To be considered for admission to a MSc programme, applicants should have at least a 4 year Bachelor degree with a final cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 3.0/4.0 or 75%.

To be considered for admission to a MSc programme, applicants should have a Bachelor, Kandidaatti or Kandidat degree.

To be considered for admission to a MSc programme, applicants should have a Bachelor Fachhochschule (University of Applied Sciences)*, Diplom Fachhochschule (University of Applied Sciences)*, or Bachelor's degree from a research-oriented higher education.

To be considered for admission to a MSc programme, applicants should have at least a 4 year Bachelor degree with a final cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 70%.

To be considered for admission to a MSc programme, applicants should have a Graduate Diploma or Master’s degree with a minimum of at least Pass with Distinction.

To be considered for admission to a MSc programme, applicants should have a Licence degree, Professional Title or Diploma d’Etudes Superieures with a final cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 8.0 on a scale with a maximum of 10.0.

To be considered for admission to a MSc programme, applicants should have a Licenciado degree or Professional Title with a final cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 3.7/5.0 or 75%.

To be considered for admission to a MSc programme, applicants should have a Honours Bachelor degree with a minimum of at least 2^nd class upper division.

To be considered for admission to a MSc programme, applicants should have an Égyetemi Oklevél Alapkepzes or Főiskolai Oklevél Alapkepzes (4 years).

To be considered for admission to a MSc programme, applicants should have Bachelor degree.

To be considered for admission to an MSc programme, applicants should have at least one of the following degrees mentioned below, with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 75% (First Class)*

• Bachelor of Commerce (Honours)
• Bachelor of Engineering
• Bachelor of Technology
• Bachelor of Laws
• Bachelor of Education
• Bachelor of Arts (Honours) with a minimum of at least first class/division obtained at a higher education institution with the highest NAAC accreditation level or with the Institute of National Importance status.
• Bachelor of Science (Honours) with a minimum of at least first class/division obtained at a higher education institution with the highest NAAC accreditation level or with the Institute of National Importance status.

* Please note that each programmes may have a different CGPA requirement. Please check study programmes of your choice on the master's programmes page. In addition to that, some programmes also require an obtained diploma which is equivalent to Dutch Research-Oriented University (WO). You can find the overview of the diploma evaluations on Nuffic.

To be considered for admission to a MSc programme, applicants should have at least Sarjana Insinyur or Sarjana Strata (S1) degree with a final cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 7.0/10.0 or 2.7/4.0 (2^nd class upper).

Legal restrictions in relation to dual use technology

Students from Iran are welcome to study at UT. However, please note that restrictions may be in place when you apply for a technical study at the University of Twente and have Iranian nationality. The restrictions are in response to international sanctions on technical assistance in relation to dual use technology. You can find more information at the Student Services website.

The four sanctioned universities in Iran are:

• Malek Ashtar University;
• Shahid Beheshti University;
• Sharif University of Technology;  and the
• Iran Composites Institute at the Iranian University of Science and Technology.

Students who studied earlier at one of these sanctioned universities are also welcome to study at UT. Please note that restrictions may be in place when you apply for a technical study at the University of Twente and have a Iranian nationality. The restrictions are in response to international sanctions on technical assistance in relation to dual use technology.

To be considered for admission to a MSc programme, applicants should have at least a 4 year Bachelor degree with a final cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 70%.

However, please note that restrictions may be in place when you apply for a technical study at the University of Twente and have Russian nationality. To be considered for admission to a MSc programme, applicants should have a Bachelor Honours degree with a final cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 15.0/20.0 or 4.0/5.0.

To be considered for admission to a MSc programme, applicants should at least have a Diplomado/Arquitecto Técnico/Ingeniero Técnico/ Título de Maestro, Título Superior de Música/ de Danza/en Arte Dramático or Título de Graduado.

To be considered for admission to a MSc programme, applicants should have a Bachelor General degree, Bachelor Special degree or Professional degree with a minimum of at least 1^st Class or 2^nd Class Upper Division.

To be considered for admission to a MSc programme, applicants should have a Bachelor degree obtained at a public university or Institution accredited by the NCHE with a final cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 4.0/5.0.

To be considered for admission to a MSc programme, applicants should have a 3 or 4 year Bachelor Honours degree.

To be considered for admission to a MSc programme, applicants should have a Baklavr degree or Specialist Diploma with a final cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 4.0/5.0.

To be considered for admission to a MSc programme, applicants should have at least a 4 year Licenciatura degree or Professional Title with a final cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 14.0/20.0 or 7.5/9.0.

To be considered for admission to a MSc programme, applicants should have a Bachelor degree with Honours with a minimum of at least 2^nd Class Upper Division.

To be considered for admission to a MSc programme, applicants should have a Master's degree or Postgraduate diploma with a final cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 3.0/4.0.

To be considered for admission to a MSc programme, applicants should have at least a 3 year Bachelor degree with a final cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 75%.
